Newsflash

In what is a model that should be adopted by the other 49 States in the United States, Iowa has a law that requires a presumptive shared parenting of 50/50 in all divorces.  Demonstrating its committment to Iowa families, this bill was passed in 2006.  Iowa is certainly protecting America's Heartland!

NJ Psychologist complaint docs surface PDF Print E-mail

Updated 9/16/07 with new Documents!

Some new documents have surfaced regarding the complaints against New Jersey Psychologist Marsha Kleinman that outline the complaint against her by the State of New Jersey, as well as another lawsuit filed by the parents of one of her other patients.  The documents are interesting in that they show the power one can possess by being a respected professional.

Don't we all call doctors, lawyers, specialists of all types to get help with our problems?  We beleive because of their high academics, their oaths to their professions, and the profession itself that they will be fine, outstanding and trustworthy people to put our entire trust into.

What is surfacing now is news of a failure of that trust level, which really we have no real reason to have.  Lets face it, when Marsha Kleinman was accused by the State of New Jersey, it must have caused a lot of people to say "huh!".  When Washington State Psychologist Stuart Greenberg was arrested by police for allegedly video filming his clients in the restroom of his office it sent shockwaves through the King County Family Court Services, where judges, social workers, and attorney's had hung their trust on a man that apparently had at least a shady side to his behavior.  Imagine the cases that were decided by decided by his expert reports and testimony about the ability and mental state of a parent.

In Greenberg's case, its interesting how a $100 per hour psychologist gets elevated to a $250 an hour psychologist simply by beign an evaluator of family court cases, rather than a practicioner that is billing insurance companies.  And, also amazing how the rates jump to $350 an hour when they must step into a court of law.  Look at the questionare that was used in his practice.  Who says justices doesn't pay?  Apparently, in Washington's Halls of Justice it does, and quite handsomely.

What is really ironic in the case of Greenberg who held the answer in his had as to which parent would have custody of a child, denying shared parenting to children that desperately needed it, at a time where it has been found that teen suicides increase with children from single parent families, is the fact that he committed suicide.  Further demonstrating that the trust that was put in him as a sensible professional that could be trusted to make life altering decision for families was ill placed.

In Kleinman's case, what is alleged is a coaching of two separate minors, and one adult into making false accusations of sexual and domestic violence against two separate fathers.  One really has to wonder what could have broken in this womans own mind to cause such a blatant disregards for the professional standards she has been sworn to uphold?  What could overide sensible thought process to create such a hatred to be forced upon minors who need and require the love and devotion of their father, and mother in their life.

Is it really much different then we we all see each and every day by other professionals such as judges, who blatantly bias judgesments against one parent or the other, or the lawyer who fights the fight, but only until it causes him/her to go against what is commonly accepted by the local bar and the judges themselves.  They dare not buck the status quo in court to defend their client when it's not a generally accepted practice.  Or the social worker that committs bias in the form of ensuring one parent gains custody of a child, along with the social benefits to that person and the state as well in their Title IV-D goldmine.
